OxBRC receives ISO 9001 accreditation
The NIHR Biomedical Research Centre, Oxford (OxBRC) has for the second year in a row been credited as ISO9001 compliant.
This means that the OxBRC documents, implements, and maintains a quality management system and continually improves its effectiveness in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 International Standard.
Dr Mark Taylor, General Manager said: "We have been entrusted with a large sum of taxpayer's money to fund and support translational research in partnership with the University of Oxford. We believed it important to test how robust our processes and systems were to ensure transparency, probity and a clear audit trail."
"ISO9001 accreditation means that the systems we have put in place have been externally verified and fulfill the requirements needed to meet this internationally recognised system of checks and balances."
The decision to apply for ISO9001 was part of an overall quality review introduced by the OxBRC management team.
