Education and Training
The NIHR Biomedical Research Cente, Oxford was formed as a partnership between the University of Oxford and the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust to undertake translational research for patient benefit. Its remit includes building the research capaacity of the NHS and has recently been asked to work with the NIHR on an educational strategy.
In order to support this the BRC, in collaboration with Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School (OUCAGS) and Oxford Health Services Research Committee (OHSRC) has established the Education Working Group.

In 2009 we established clinical research fellowships in collaboration with OUCAGS and OHSRC. These fellows, and other research fellows supported on specific projects within the research Themes, will be mentored through structured involvement in the Academic Medical Forum system established through the Walport schemes and other externally funded PhD fellowship schemes, for example those supported by the Wellcome Trust and MRC.
