Ray Fitzpatrick

Professor Ray Fitzpatrick was a lecturer at Middlesex Hospital Medical School, London before moving to Oxford in 1986.  He is Professor of Public Health and Primary Care in the Division of Public Health and Primary Health Care and a Fellow, Nuffield College. His research focuses on the evaluation of treatments and services, for example, he collaborates with colleagues in Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in a number of trials of alternative forms of surgery and is currently completing a study of health service experiences and outcomes of individuals with long term neurological conditions.  A particular interest is the involvement of patients in evaluation through patient reported outcome measures, on which subject he and his group advise the Department of Health, London.
