John Hutton

Professor John Hutton is Professor of Health Economics in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of York as well as a Project Director at YHEC. John is an experienced health economist who has spent time in academia, the public sector and healthcare consulting. In his current role, John is responsible for leading consulting projects with NHS and pharmaceutical and medical device industry clients. He has published extensively on methods of economic evaluation and on applications in a wide range of disease areas, especially cardiovascular disease and cancer. In addition to this, in his previous position with UBC Health Care Analytics (formerly MEDTAP), John was responsible for leading the development of the original guidelines for manufacturers’ submissions to NICE. He is a founding co-editor of Health Economics, and a Non-Executive Director of York Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
